WILLIAMSTON - Mrs. Nellie Faye Glover-Roberts was graciously called HOME to GLORY on Monday, December 17, 2018 at Vidant Health Medical Center in Greenville with her husband by her side.
Nellie was born October 30, 1953 to William Layton Glover and Queen Esther Higgs-Glover in Martin County, North Carolina. She attended Martin County Schools and graduated from West Martin High School in Oak City, NC. As a young child, the oldest of eight siblings, Nellie became very responsible and disciplined and understood early on how to sacrifice and care for others. As a teenager, Nellie became a member of Bible Way Apostolic Church in Williamston and served faithfully in the choir as a gifted singer. She loved to lead in sing soulful tunes and her distinct anointed voice excelled while leading the choir in jubilee spirituals to the glory of God.
Nellie married her childhood sweetheart Jeff Roberts, to the blessed union of 44 years, two sons were born Dante’ and Victor Roberts (Victor preceded her in death). Nellie and Jeff loved children and welcomed brothers, Jarrell and Quindell Jenkins into their family. Since that time, Nellie and Jeff have become therapeutic parents to 16 children in their home.
In 2007 Nellie and Jeff returned to Martin County and started a God inspired business named Amani Residential/ Human Services and later a Non-profit Unlimited Care Inc., a food bank and summer program. Nellie has always excelled in her ability to love and care for others telling them about the Goodness of God.
She leaves to cherish her memory her devoted husband of 44 years Jeff Roberts, sons Dante Roberts of Laurel, Md., Quindell Jenkins ( Margie), Suffolk, Va. Jarrell Jenkins, Bronx, NY. Her sister Sylvia Dozier, Robersonville; brothers, William Glover (Shirley) , Clarence Glover, Robert Glover (Viola), Scotland Neck, Solomon Glover, Robersonville, Donnie Glover (Yolanda) of Atlanta; grandchildren Amani and Amaya Orlando, Fla. Jene and Victor Syracuse, NY and Dante’ Williamstown, NJ; aunts, uncle, nephews nieces and a hosts of friends.
Funeral will be held on Saturday, December 29, 2018 at 12 noon, at Greater Victory Apostolic Church in Snow Hill. Visitation Friday, December 28th from 5 pm to 7 pm at the funeral home chapel in Williamston. The family will be receiving friends at the home at 1054 Country Club Drive in Williamston.
