Mr. Alvin Dewey Moore Sr Obituary

Alvin Dewey Moore SR, passed away peacefully on the morning of May 23, with his loving wife by his side. Alvin was born on Feb 06, 1951 in Portsmouth, VA to the late Ira and John Moore Sr.

Alvin and his lifelong partner (wife), Donna Loraine Moore, enjoyed 52 years of marriage. Alvin is survived by his loving and caring wife, Donna; his sister-in-law and brother, Vickie and Davey Moore; his sister and brother-in-law, Rosie and Loren Marrison; His children Alvin & Darlene Moore Jr. Son, Ira & Christopher Richardson daughter, Jammie & Greg Dorsey daughter, Paula & Tim Young daughter, Linda Morgan daughter. Grandchildren Brandon, Shane and Hailey, Brittany and Josh, Hayley, Sarah, Jacob, Chase, Allison, Johnathan, Chris, Tim Jr., Alex, Jesselin, Ethan, Ryland, Braden, and Jason and Tonya Also survived by 12 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. 


Alvin was predeceased by his brother Johnnie Moore, sister Marie Broadhurst, daughter Florence Gregory, (2) granddaughters Cillay Moore and Deseree Young.


Alvin loved Harley Davidsons. Going on long bike rides on his 1995 ultra-classic with his wife and local groups. He loved to shoot pool and work on his old ford truck. He enjoyed archery in his back yard with his compound bow. He also enjoyed sitting on his front porch and just watching the sun come up with a good cup of coffee. His other passion was construction, he was one of the best framers on the east coast and could blend anything and make it look like it had no seams. He was one of the few from the past that believed in bartering you help me, and I will help you. He was an honest man of his word and would do anything for his family.

Celebration of life will take place on June 17, 2023, rain or shine, huge celebration lots of food, all welcome who knew Alvin Moore. 898 NC HWY 37s Gatesville, NC. 27938
