William Wiggins

William Frank Wiggins, affectionately called “Dickie”, departed from this life on May 11, 2015. Dickie was born to William A. Wiggins (deceased) and Marie R. Wiggins (Roberson) on August 28, 1951, in Williamston, NC. Dickie grew up in Williamston, NC, and enlisted in the U.S. Army in January 1973. He was awarded the distinction of “Sharpshooter” and received an honorable discharge from active duty in January, 1975. He spent four years in the reserves. In his later years, Dickie was known to be a private individual. He was always one who liked things to be in order. This quality has even continued after his departure, as he left all things in order. Dickie was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Gean Shorey (Rudy). He leaves to mourn, his mother, Marie Wiggins of Williamston, NC, one aunt, Bernice Lyons (Alphonza - deceased) of Newport News, VA; three sisters, Julia Faye Tillmon of Williamston, NC, Genevieve Robin Ormon (Lloyd) of Gloucester, VA, and Priscilla Purvis (Dallas) of Williamston, NC; one brother, Donnie Wiggins of Williamston, NC; nine nieces, three nephews, eight great nieces, nine great nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends.
